WRESTLING: JACOB STEPHEN VARNER WINS THE GOLD MEDAL

Jacob Stephen Varner wins the Gold Medal in the Men’s 96 kg Freestyle Wrestling 2012 Olympics.  Another gold medal for the United States of America. Varner defeats Valerii Andriitsev of the Ukraine.  August 12, 2012 marks day sixteen and the last day of the 2012 Olympics.

Varner added to medal count for the USA and the many other athletes who played at their best, representing their country.  It was a great two weeks of being a fan of the Olympic games.  Now back to training. Workout, drink be merry.

  1. My hometown….. I knew that the Varner name form my days wrestling HS in Bakersfield in the 60’s. I was a West High guy but Bakersfield High and South High had the awesome program during my wrestling days. Loved the post and I did catch his match on TV.
