Grand Prix Miami Results

Two days of judo competition comes to an end. The first ever Grand Prix in the United States of America held in Miami, Florida.  There were seven different weight classes for both the men’s and women’s matches.  Eleven different countries are represented on the winners podium.  A lot of exciting matches.  My favorite finish of the competition was a big uchi-mata by Soo-Whan Kim of Korea over, Renat Saidov of Russia in the +100 kg matches.  Great coverage by International Judo Federation.

Here are the winners for this past Grand Prix Miami:

-48 kg Eva Csernoviczki (Hungary)

-52 kg Yanet Bermoy Acosta (Cuba)

-57 kg Marti Malloy (USA)

-63 kg Clarisse Agbegnenou (France)

-70 kg LLjana Marzok (Germany)

-78 kg Audrey Tcheumeo (France)

+78 kg Megumi Tachimoto (Japan)

-60 kg Kherlen Ganbold (Mongolia)

-66 kg Abdula Abulzhalilov (Russia)

-73 kg Dirk van Tichelt (Belize)

-81 kg Tom Reed (Great Britian)

-90 kg Asley Gonzalez (Cuba)

-100 kg Zafar Makhmadov (Russia)

+100 kg Soo-Whan Kim (Korea)

More good judo under the IJF rules. Next tournament to look forward to is Pan America Open- San Salvardo.  As always workout, drink be merry.
